We help people finish the book they started.
The Universal Publishing is a small team of editors, writers, designers and publishing specialists. We work with first-time authors and returning ones, and we try to be the kind of partner we would want for our own books.
“A book is finished when the author is proud of it and readers can find it.”
Why we exist
Publishing should not feel like a maze.
Self-publishing gave authors freedom, and it also handed them a long to-do list: editors, cover designers, file formats, ISBNs, store accounts, keywords, ads. Many people give up on one of those steps. Others spend money on the wrong thing first.
We built The Universal Publishing to take that list off your plate. You can hand us the whole job or just one part of it. Either way we explain what we are doing and why, in plain English, and we put the price in writing before we start.
We are a service provider, not a traditional publisher. We do not take your rights and we do not take a share of your royalties. The book is yours from the first page to the last.
What we stand for
Four promises we keep.
Plain talk
No jargon and no sales pressure. If you do not need something, we will say so.
Your rights
You keep ownership of your book and 100% of your royalties. Always.
Clear quotes
Fixed prices in writing, with scope and timelines, before any work begins.
Your voice first
We make the writing better without turning it into ours.
Who you will work with
A team built around books.
Each project has a lead who is your point of contact from start to finish, so you never have to repeat yourself. Around them sit the specialists your book needs:
- Editors who work in your genre and give honest, useful notes.
- Ghostwriters who are good listeners as well as good writers.
- Cover and interior designers who know what sells in each category.
- Publishing and marketing specialists who handle the store side.
What we will not do
- Promise bestseller status or guaranteed sales
- Take a share of your royalties or your rights
- Buy fake reviews or use tricks that break store rules
- Lock you into a long contract
- Add costs that were not in your written quote
